TiVo Names Nancy Kato as Company's Vice President, Human Resources

March 21, 2005 - ALVISO, Calif. - TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO) announced today that Nancy Kato has joined the company as Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, Ms. Kato will be responsible for developing and managing all processes and policies in regard to employee relations, recruiting and hiring, performance assessment and compensation as well as employee and organizational development. She will report to David Courtney, TiVo's Chief Financial Officer and EVP, Worldwide Operations & Administration.
Ms. Kato joins TiVo from Hewlett-Packard, where she served as Vice President of Global Compensation. At HP, Ms. Kato developed strategic compensation and planning for the company's 150,000 worldwide employee base. Prior to her role at HP, Ms. Kato was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Ariba where she developed Human Resources initiatives for a wide range of issues from workforce management to recruiting and employee benefit programs. She has also held senior roles at Compaq and Tandem.
"Nancy will make a terrific addition to TiVo's executive team," said David Courtney, CFO and EVP of Worldwide Operations & Administration at TiVo. "Her broad depth and range of experience in all aspects of employee and organizational development will serve the company well as TiVo continues to revolutionize the way consumers watch and access home entertainment."
A Silicon Valley native, Ms. Kato earned her BS in Health Sciences and MA in Education and Counseling from San Jose State University. In addition, she has served as a guest lecturer at Stanford University and Santa Clara University. She is active in numerous charitable causes for area children and the elderly.
